Everyone loves cartoons! And it's not difficult to create your own - all you need is inspiration, plenty of imagination and lots of time. You can create animated characters and other objects using tweening and keyframes, arrange and animate them on layers (maybe with a moving background), add sounds and special effects, and put everything together to make a sequence of scenes - your own cartoon video or web pages! Creating animations is also the first step towards making your own computer games.
There's lots of animation software around. Here we look at Flash & Scratch.
For PCGE group 5/2/08 only:
You can find Flash 8 on the network from the start menu All Programs here:
Digital Media Authoring Macromedia Studio 8 MacroMedia Flash 8
To start Scratch, don't use the menus. Instead, from the start menu, click run, and paste this (including quotes):
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Programming\Scratch\Scratch.exe"
